The 240 Z Rally Car, seen from below, front of car to left. The yellow dot seen behind the front bumper is the release for the hood. At right, the red trapezoid is all that remains of the trailer hook in this well-played-with example. Josiah Carberry Collection.

The Datsun 240 Z Rally Car (Matchbox placed a space before the Z) is a Speed Kings model, based on the Datsun 240Z. Depending on the market, the actual car was also known as the S30 and/or the Fairlady Z. The model features a trailer hook, chromed headlights and bumpers, and a chromed engine beneath a latching hood. A plastic thumb switch on the model's base releases the hood latch.
