Model History[]

The Audi RS6 Avant is a casting by Matchbox designed by Ryu Asada that debuted for the 2006 mainline. The casting was created by Felix Holst’s who owned a A6 himself while Vice President of Mattel at the time. The casting has a number of MB696 and was originally produced from 2006 to 2010 when it was discontinued. It wasn't until 2018 when the casting was brought back with minor tweaks such as a revised rivet post for easier assembly.

Card description[]

  • Zipping through the German countryside in your 580 hp Audi RS6 Avant leaves no room for error—but plenty of room for your gear. Grip the wheel, keep your foot on the pedal and take your little yellow land rocket to a top speed of 174 mph!

Trivia[]

  • The 2018 release had the card art and name based on the '94 Audi Avant RS2 at Audi's request, which is incorrect as the casting itself is different. Later issues of the release changed the name back to the original name of the casting although the card art has not changed. It wasn't until the 2019 release corrected the card art.
